This course is a must for all those who are working in agencies who may find themselves representing their agency at a strategic level, during an internal or local crisis, emergency or major incident.
A crisis and emergency management plan is only as good as the people that are required to implement it. Experience shows that where management teams are unfamiliar with the contingency plans, or are not sure of their roles, responsibilities, and key functions, vital time can be lost in those precious few hours immediately following a crisis, critical incident or emergency. The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 delivers a single framework for civil protection in the UK, and as a Category 1 responder, the Health Service, is required to: Risk Assess, Plan, Inform public of wider emergency and carry out exercises.
Delivered by Roger Gomm QPM, who worked for the London Metropolitan Police Service commanding major events including the 2012 London Olympics, this one day course takes an interactive approach, and offers a safe and supportive environment.
