The review of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) has been prompted by feedback from service users and providers that access and waiting times within the service could be improved. Feedback on the re-design proposals will also be sought from staff working in a wide range of organisations including health, schools, social care and the voluntary sector who are involved in supporting young people experiencing mental health issues.
The outcome of the review will enable both CCGs to work with local authority partners to plan and commission an enhanced community CAMHS service with improved outcomes through earlier intervention for young people who are experiencing mental health problems.
