Agencia completes Albania Mission (and The Road to Vermosh…)

Whit Mason and Richard Wood were pleased to complete a recent successful mission to Albania.  Strengthening our existing relationships within Albania, the mission also served as an opportunity to develop additional new relationships and partnerships.

With a particular focus on justice, policing and security, Agencia worked with the Institute for Democracy and Mediation.  The mission included meetings with criminal justice officials such as the Chief Justice, Chief Prosecutor (see photo), key interlocutors (including Anti-Trafficking Coordinators) and many Non-Government Organisations.

Agencia has extensive experience of delivering international justice, policing, and security projects across the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe.  This includes work for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office since 2004.  Prior to this, Agencia worked on DFID funded projects, and current projects in the region also include EU contracts.  We have gained a reputation for achieving sustainable, effective outcomes, often where engrained distrust and alleged corruption exist.

The team also travelled into the mountains of Northern Albania on the road to Vermosh, and stayed in a mountain village. They met some of those experiencing the worst deprivations of poverty, and fully open to the lure of organised crime gangs.
