Steve Pitts (Agencia’s UK Justice & International Sector Advisor) comments: “for the past year we have been delivering a project to establish a Victim and Witness Information Unit in the Higher Prosecutors Office in Belgrade, Serbia. We submitted a proposal to the British Embassy to develop this into a Witness Care Unit, modelled on how services are delivered in the UK. We have just been informed that our bid has been successful and our project is now a key strand of Serbia’s Justice Reform Strategy 2014-18. I am pleased to continue to lead on this project which will be delivered over the next 12 months.
Secondly, building on the training that we have been delivering on anti-corruption and financial investigations through RIPA International in Kosovo, we are delivering coaching and mentoring on investigative techniques to police, prosecutors and customs officers. Craig Moore will lead the project which starts immediately.
