The work led in 2005, to further work in Croatia on behalf of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and, as a result, since then Agencia has been engaged on projects to assist Croatia’s EU accession – all of those projects falling in the judicial reform sector (enabling Croatia to fulfil their Chapter 23 obligations of the acquis communautaire).
In that time twelve consultants; Andrew Gibson, Colin Monson, Dejan Vracic, Jonathan Radway, Loraine Ladlow, Mark Croxford, Nigel Hallam, Paul Cheeseman, Ron DeWitt, Sam Makkan, Simon Evans, Steve Jacobs have played a part in establishing Agencia’s reputation in Croatia: ably assisted by interpreter Renee Davies and her team of colleagues.
Recent weeks have seen visits to courts in London by 34 members of the Croatian Association of Judges (picture shows 18 of the group outside of Kingston upon Thames Crown Court).
The visit by the judges was originally timed to coincide with a Croatian Tourist Board event, promoting the city of Zadar. Unfortunately, that event was postponed until early May, but Steve Jacobs was able to attend on the re-arranged date and spent the evening swapping midfield adventures with Luka Modrić:
Luka now heads off to Euro 2012 in Poland, and Steve waits to see if his tips prove useful in games against the hosts, Italy and the Republic of Ireland.
