Agencia has successfully delivered a new Caribbean contract, despite the challenges of the pandemic and a tropical storm, by responding flexibly and innovatively.
The contract involved Agencia’s Serious Crime Directorate providing bespoke training, covering a range of topics including financial intelligence, money laundering, terrorist financing and assets recovery. Working with over 20 trainees from several different public bodies and law enforcement agencies, (including from the Governors Office), the training was designed to be practical, interactive and tailored to the specific needs of the client and trainees. The course was also attended by a number of observers from a range of other agencies.
With the original plan being for the training to be delivered face to face in the Caribbean, as the Covid crisis began to bite, it quickly became clear that travel was not an option. Alternative options for remote delivery were then explored and agreed, with additional resultant benefits maximised.
Tim Holt, Director of Serious Crime and lead for the work said: “By changing the way we work, we have been able to respond in a positive way, delivering far beyond the expectations of our clients. For example, remote delivery means we have been able to provide a greater number of experts and trainers to our clients, without an increase in cost. The lockdown has shown that we can bring together large teams across the world at the touch of a button. This has proved transformational for our clients and partners.”
Having commenced delivery, all went smoothly for the first couple of days, and then was disrupted by a tropical storm that forced the postponement of the remainder of the delivery. With thanks to the flexibility and commitment of our client and trainees, new arrangements were quickly made, in order to recommence and complete delivery, later in the month.
Bearing testament to Agencia’s adaptable and solution-focussed approach, the overwhelming response from the client, trainees and observers, was that the work was hugely successful. One of the main organisers of the training said: “It was a pleasure working with all of you and I must say, the consensus from the delegates has been that they really enjoyed the training and look forward to more of it. I would like to thank you for the excellent job that you did in putting together such a detailed course, which spoke very specifically to our jurisdiction.”
